The Ancient Buddha Clan was one of the Great Thousand World's most powerful force. They were one of the five Ancient Clans. Heavenly Sovereign powerhouses were quite common in the Clan. Being a Heavenly Sovereign was the level one should be, as that was the only stage where a person had a chance of survival, to enter the Ancient Buddha Clan's Ancestral Pagoda Land, which held one of the top ten Sovereign Celestial Bodies. This Sovereign Celestial Body was extremely powerful, especially once Mu Chen obtained it, increasing his physical power to the Immortal Level Heavenly Sovereign despite only being a Spirit Level Heavenly Sovereign.

The Clan's history can be dated back to hundred thousands years ago, far before Flame Emperor Xiao Yan and Martial Ancestor Lin Dong appeared in the Great Thousand World. Although its past is relatively unclear, Mu Chen has a direct blood connection to the Clan, as his mother is the top genius of the Ancient Buddha Clan, who eventually defeated the Grand Elder of the Ancient Buddha Clan, becoming the Grand Elder and thus securing Mu Chen's position and connection to the Ancient Buddha Clan.

The Eight-Divisional Pagoda was originated from this Clan. It was one of the 36 Peerless Divine Abilities.

For most part of the story, the Clan served as an antagonist clan (especially the Grand Elder, Xuan bloodline and Mo bloodline), which was crazy about bloodline purity and wanted to kill Mu Chen because he was the "Sinful Child".

Elders Association[]

In the Ancient Buddha Clan, the authority was held by the Elders Association. Practically any order in the Clan must go through the Elders Association. That also meant that controlling the Elders Association meant controlling the entire Ancient Buddha Clan.

At the time of Bloodline Competition being held, there were 19 seats in the Elders Association, with the Xuan Bloodline had seven seats, Mo Bloodline had six, and Qing Bloodline only had three. The remaining three seats belonged to the Branch Bloodlines.

Notable Factions[]

  1. Qing Bloodline
  2. Xuan Bloodline
  3. Mo Bloodline

There are many factions in the Ancient Buddha Clan, with the Xuan and Mo Bloodlines being the most powerful. Qing Bloodline was once powerful when the leader of the Qing Bloodline was Qing Yanjing's father, Mu Chen's maternal grandfather. But after his death, the Qing Bloodline started to decline.

Currently, most of the Elder seats had fallen in the hands of the Xuan and Mo Bloodlines. The candidates for the next Patriarch were younger generations from Xuan Bloodline (Xuan Luo) and Mo Bloodline (Mo Xin). After Mu Chen obtained the Primordial Immortal Body, Futu Xuan told the Clan that Mu Chen would become the new Patriarch. (Novel chapter 1499)

She was impressed by heroes that come from lower planes, most notably Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor, and flatly rejected the elders platform of putting inheritance above everything. For this reason, she purposely sealed Mu Chen's spiritual pulse when she left, because she wants him to grow through hardship.
  • Mu Chen's mother would later on became the Grand Elder of the Clan, after got the acknowledgement from the Ancestral Pagoda that gave her authority as Grand Elder. From then on, the Clan became major supporter of Mu Chen.
