The Great Academy Tournament is an event that takes place, pitting all of the academies of the Great Thousand World against each other, as a means of tempering students, vying for treasures and displaying prestige.
Location[]
The battlefield for this Tournament is remnant piece of a shattered continent. In the ancient times, this continent was one of the largest continents within the Great Thousand Worlds. However, due to the great calamity that happened in the ancient times, it had shattered apart, transforming into fragmented continents of various sizes. These fragmented continents are considered to be lands of treasure within the Great Thousand Worlds. That’s because they contain vestiges of the ancient past. People who have good luck might be able to obtain some of the ancient treasures or ancient inheritance present within them.
Participants[]
The Academies participating in the Tournament numbers in tens of thousands, with each Academy sending at least one team. Meanwhile, each of the Five Great Academies sent out more than one team. Saint Spiritual Academy sent out four teams, while Northern Heavens Spiritual Academy only sent two teams (each team lead by Mu Chen and Shen Cangsheng, respectively). The other three Great Academies (Martial Spiritual Academy, Myriad Phoenix Academy, and Azure Heavens Spiritual Academy) each sent out three teams.
Rules[]
Elimination Round[]
Teams are split into groups of five people, representing their academies, to content against each other. Each team will be allocated a basic amount of points. Once a team gets defeated by another, the winner will be able to obtain half of the points from the loser. However, according to the rules, the points on an Academy Plaque could only be deducted once per day. This is a protective mechanism to prevent some unlucky teams to get instantly eliminated from the competition. When no more points can be deducted from a team, they will be automatically eliminated and will lose the qualifications to contend for the final fights. If half of the top 16 teams ignite their Academy Plaques, the current top eight with most points will be the finalists. When the final eight teams are settled, those eight teams will be pit against each other in the final fights (Battle of the Top 8 Teams).
Battle of the Top 8 Teams[]
Teams are pit against each other, with the team captains being worth three points and the other members worth a point each. The team with the best point total after each battle move on to the Battle of the Top 4 Teams.
Battle of the Top 4 Teams[]
Teams enter the Mirror of Judgement and are subsequently put into a Spiritual Energy Ocean whereby the teams have to escape by swimming up to the top, however they can attack other teams to prevent them getting out.
Battle for the Champion.[]
There were no specific rules as regard to the battle arrangements. The last one standing on the battle stage will become the Champion.
