Xue Tiandu is a member of royal bloodline of the Blood God Clan. After hearing from Xue Shi that Luo Li was within the Northern Heavens Spiritual Academy, he joined the Great Spiritual Academy Tournament in order to capture her. There he managed to get the title of successor of the Divine Wood Palace, something that would end up pitting him against Mu Chen for the inheritance in the Divine Wood Lightning Dipper. Both Mu Chen and Xue Tiandu passed the test for the inheritance of the Divine Wood Palace and as such both got the chance to take a treasure. They both happened to go for the Black Tortoise Seal and as such ended up battling against one another.
